New geetars!

Music in Oban, Argyll just took a turn for the sexy with The Hollow Mountain String Band's addition of two archtop guitars. John has bought a Godin 5th Avenue and Rab has purchased a Loar LH500, which has been converted to leftie.

These kind of guitars have a distinctive sound, and add a classic tone to Hollow Mountain's brand of bluegrass, blues, ragtime, old time and country music.

Rab already loves his Loar. He says: "it's a really lovely guitar. It looks and sounds like a classic archtop of the 1920s and 30s, which The Loar's are designed to replicate. It looks amazing, sounds and plays beautifully. Both mine and John's guitars blend really well together and our original material is already sounding great with these new additions. There will be few bands in Oban who have a sexier set of guitars"

You'll be able to see these new guitars in action with The Hollow Mountain String Band when they bring their new look and sound to The Lorne Bar, Stevenson Street, Oban on Saturday, 2nd July.
